NEVER.

A sales position is very crucial to an organization as a salesperson is the frontrunner of a company. You should be very careful about what you wear in front of customers as this affects their view of the WHOLE organization.

City shorts, however fashionable they may be, are a no-no in ANY sales position. It is TOO casual that it doesn't really show any professionalism that you may/most probably have.

If you're going for business casual, the safest you can wear would be denims or khakis. AND THAT'S IT.

Please, no shorts...

It all depends on your line of business and where you live. If youre in a conservative field in a midwestern twon, NO If youre selling something artsy in Miami, for example, Id say yes. If youre gut feeling is that its kinda risky, than go with no and save your personal fashion expression for after work

you would be perfectly fine here in Napa Wine Country. not so much probably in SF or silicon valley. My sales rep sometimes wears those on really hot days in late august. But not a lot. a skirt would probably be a better option.
