This is a P.c not a laptop therefore getting closer to the wireless router would be impossible. Our phone line goes from the ground floor to the attic to get internet there and thats where the wireless comes from. Even when i turn the comp on and off it happens this has happened the whole time i have had this computer.
plz say instructions-what i should click on/do to fix this. but if it isnt that serious and my internet works fine is there any point?
plz help fanx xx

If it were a faulty card, your error would be more along the lines of "Windows could not finish repairing the problem because the following action could not be completed: Renewing your IP address".

Clearing the DNS cache tends to hang when you lose connection to your host for a small period of time, and you get a lot of packet loss. When this happens, you basically build up a lot of garbage that it can't clear up. Shut down your modem for 15 seconds and turn it back on. That will manually clear anything in the modem and your computer will then be fine, the repair (although not needed, but if you need visual confirmation) will work.

If this happens a lot you may need a new modem. If it's a fairly new modem (3 months or less) it may be your ISP. If you're on DSL, you should have either a "SYNC" light or a "WAN" light. If either of those go off at all, ever, it means your connection from your modem to the phone line has interference. Either your line inside/outside your house needs repaired, or (if you have filters) your filters are misplaced. If you have a splitter, it could be going bad. Check to make sure the phone line from your modem to the wall has NOTHING in between it and the wall; No filters, no line splitters, no surge protector, etc. Make sure the phone line is not kinked, damaged, cut, etc. If you're on cable, you should call your cable company and discuss it with them.

getting disconnected means you could be losing the wireless signal normally by the time on your pc is an icon showing your wireless check the strength and see what it says ,im on a laptop and mine can go up and down from where i am in the house ,adjusting your aerial can help get better signals i also found putting the wireless router up higher helped me.

your wireless connection can either be shown as a bar or a monitor picture with radio waves hover the mouse icon over it you should have a ammount like 54mpbs and signal strength good or very good ,bad means you know you need to get pc closer to the wireless router or move the router

if you have tried the others then you only have two options left
1 get the most powerful dongle you can, they are getting a lot faster, so you don't have the slight interruptions to your connection.
2 ring your server, they should talk you through it click by click, I know Tiscali do
good luck

Try moving closer to te access point if its not that it may be a faulty wireless card in your computer.
