It was a family show they never had sex, Mr. and Mrs. Howell were to old to have sex. Yes you do wonder about some strange things but that's OK makes life more interesting.

Good question, if it were a reality show, Ginger and Maryanne would have already hooked up with everyone - especially the Professor. Mr Howell probably would have tried to get some action from one of the girls too.
