Nope. 'Emo' is just a stereotype. Emo is actually a genre of music. And in response to an answer already posted, no, an emo does not have to be depressed and suicidal. That is purely stereotyping.

No, emo is actually emotional... I would know, cause I am one, and I don't cut my wrists. Like for example: Cut my wrists and black my eyes from Hawthorne Heights. Emo is where you are dark inside and cold. You are emotional and suicidal...

I don't really know what "Emo" is, (someone that's into being sad)?. I can tell you that no matter who you are, IT IS NOT OK TO HARM YOUR BODY LIKE THAT! Don't do something like that just to prove who you are. It's highly dangerous and some people actually become addicted to self-mutilation. Please don't do it. You can trust me when I say it is so not worth it.
