SincePsychology is more of a liberal arts major, it doesn't really require a lot of hard math or science knowledge (although you may be required to take these as part of your prerequisites).

If you would like to actually practice in the field of psychology, the least you would need is a master's degree, but a doctorate degree will open doors to the most and higher paying opportunities. But still with a masters and the appropriate experience you could go into counseling. If you decide to stop at the bachelor's degree, which is about four years of study, you could still qualify for a broad range of careers, but not necessarilty careers in psychology. Do a search for "bachelor degree psychology careers" or something similar.

At the bachelor's level you can expect anywhere from about $20,000 to $40,000; at the Masters, which is two additional years, about $30,000 to $45,000. At the doctorate, which is about 4-5 years after the masters, about $45,000 to $70,000 and up.

I wish you the best!

You can't make one peso with a bachelor's degree in psychology. If you want to treat patients, you need to get paid, and insurance companies won't pay you unless you have at least a master's degree. There are 15 people with psych bachelors degrees applying for every opening in graduate school. I ended up in law school. What I learned as a psychology major was not how to cure crazy people, but how to write well. That's really frowned upon in the legal profession. I skipped my last semester of Spanish to take a course from a famous psychologist who turned out to be a total jerk. I've been kicking myself ever since. Not long ago I signed up for a Spanish course that turned out to be dysfunctional. I got out. They got my money, but they didn't waste much of my time.

Psychology is one of the very good subject. Most of the people need psychological treatment, nowadays. You can ask your neighbour University to study the graduate course. Normally, Under-graduate course will 3 years and Post-graduate course will another 2 years in India. All the best!

I would look at specific programs and departments where you are looking at attending college. That will tell you classes you need to take and the amount of time.

The amount of money and time will depend upon if you want to do graduate work as well though. You can go a variety of directions with this, it just depends upon what you want to do (and you probably wouldn't/shouldn't decide this until you begin your education.)
