having been to america, i find them very polite and lots are very informed and know whats what. id like others point of view if possible thanx

I love Americans and have met quite a few (in America) but I have to say this site makes me think worse of them.
There are so many religious idiots, specifically.
But it doesn't change my opinion REALLY because I know that in real life i'll judge people individually, regardless of where they're from. But when I think "hmm Americans... what are they like?" Yeah, it is tainted.
But you know people act stupid on the internet so it's hardly going to be a good example.. :-p
Also America is huge and full of loads of people, it must be a small minority of people who are so sad to spend their life preaching online etc.
It makes me think that Americans are more judgemental than I thought (hearing jokes about certain things and jibes like British people having horrible teeth, I didn't think that kind of thing was actually still said) and it makes me think that racism is a lot worse than I thought in America. Not due to the racist posts (which are mostly trolls I think) but just Americans talking about the problems in general (intelligently)
Hmm this didn't really make sense but there it is anyway. I await the thumbs down I guess.

Not really. I moved here, after all. If I had to go by sites like this one to form my opinions, I'd never have set foot in the country except out of pity. Just to raise the average IQ level a few notches.
Most Americans are very nice. Unfortunately, it's the nasty ones most people tend to remember.

no my opinion of americans has not changed, i understand that most of the abuse and insults on here, i will add from both sides, are from a minority of people having a go or a wind up.quite entertaining. i take people from whichever country as i find them.
