There are fakes out there so close to the real thing they can even fool an expert. Best to take it to someone who knows what they are looking for.

Honestly, if it looks TOO perfect, it probably is. Most diamonds, unless extremely expensive, have some sort of flaw. Any jewelry store should be able to diamond test for you (ours does free of charge). Another thing, it always surprises me when people think their diamonds are real, yet there are no prongs or gold of any type holding the stone in. If it is glued in, it is NOT a real stone.

Real diamonds can cut glass all by theirselves. So if you have a piece of glass see if the diamond can cut it. Or take it to a gemoligist.

The difference is not obvious to the untrained eye. I suggest taking to and jeweler who works with diamonds.

if you didnt buy it from a place that sales real dimonds. Because dimonds come with warrentys and cleaning twice a year. Wear did you get it? I know my boyfriends got mine from Zales. an it was exspenive, and comes with warrent adn cleaning. so if you bought it from some were like that, they would give you all that information!
