well, lets see havnt done this in a LONNG time, but i'll see if i can get it. what i remember is taking the 46 grams and then dividing by the molar mass of CH4O. this would give you the number of moles. then you would find the mole ratio of hydrogen and CH4O. i think since 1 mole of hydrogen turns to 4 in the equation, you would take the number of moles then times by 4. this would give you number of moles for H. then all you have to do is mutiply by the molar mass of H which is 1. and you'll end up with the grams. hope that helps.

molucular mass of CH4O= 12+4(1)+16 = 32
no of moles = 46g/32
1mol contains 4 g of H
thus 46/32 g conatains 46/32*4
you do the calculation bit!

Hydrogen is 1/8 of the total mass (total MW is 32, of which 4 is hydrogen).
