why do women carry handbags?

Because generally women's clothes are made without pockets. I know most men feel that what a women thinks is essential are frivolities, but for me this isn't the case, I don't do make up and I don't have kids so that cuts out the lip gloss and wet wipes.Even if I am wearing jeans there are certain things that won't fit in the pockets - I can manage my wallet, keys and phone but unfortunately I can't fit in the tampax or umbrella if it's a day that requires either of these items. And if it's a work day I also need to carry a diary and my work phone.

I hate handbags, I avoid them when I can and when I can't I carry the smallest one I can find. But believe me there really are days when it has to be done.

Okay. You need to learn more about us women. Because we have a lot of stuff to put in them. Makeup, Feminine Products, Guy's phone numbers :P, Mints, Credit Cards, Money, Cell phones, and MORE! Purses are also an item of fashion. Color co-ordinating is an important thing for women. Its .. a GIRL THING! Men don't use handbags simply because they are low-maintance [most men, anyway]. They dont need makeup or feminine products. Credit cards and money are put in wallets for men. Mints [if you guys need 'em] are put in pockets. Buut, Mr Frankie, if you'd like to carry a purse/handbag -- well .. go ahead! I hope I anwered your question and I hope you understand the difference between Men and Women needs.

Generally women need to take thingsthat men don't use like make up out with them,and this is A more stylish way to do so.It's also A way to express your personality and style(eg,goth,chav,trendy).Handbags reveal a lot of things about you,some phycics even read handbags to find out about people.Hope This Helps..

To carry the stuff all with them which they think they need or would need in the near or far future. Maybe you think women carry around a lot of stuff and you think most of it is just plain junk, but a women usually thinks further ahead and will always carry stuff she may not need immediately, but in the long term, most items in their handbags are going to be needed, often when you least expect it.

I am a lady, and I never leave home with-out a bag of some kind. I would feel as if some-thing is missing, as a part of my dressing. Girl-stuff, is usual in these bags ; money, in case of an emergency. Men would put money in a back pocket, but not a lady. What we will take with us , when we go out, all seems logical to go in a bag, and it is mistake to go any-where with-out nothing. Hand bags seem safer, to be carried around, rather than to be left in a vehicle, always at hand when you need some-thing from them. Men sometimes carry brief-cases, because they seem more masculine,hand-bags are feminine.

where exactly should i put the following items when wearing something does not have pockets:

cell phone
wallet
checkbook
keys
lipstick/lipgloss
pocketsize mirror
altoid mints
pen

these are the bare minimums that I carry at any given time. if given the choice I would not carry a bag as to me they are more of an annoyance, however, they do come in handy as a place to store stuff. My old college boyfriend always liked the fact that I had a purse so he stuck his wallet in my bag.

men probably at most carry the following items which fit in pants pockets:

wallet
keys
chapstick
spare change
cell phone

you also probably have a jacket on with cavernous pockets on the inside, plus usually three to four pockets on your pants. most woman's clothing either doesn't have pockets or don't have very big ones. so we carry bags.

Men don't wear makeup.

Men don't feel the need to brush their hair spontaneously throughout the day.

Men don't need to carry around tampons and maxi-pads for their use throughout the day.

Men don't have to have an endless supply of gum for their kids to keep them quiet during church, happy in line at the grocery store, or from fighting in the car..... Men don't need to because MOM is there to do those things.

Plus, they look cute, and Lord knows we women are suckers for something cute. Puppies, small children..... heck that's the only reason we give you GUYS a second look most of the time!

woman have handbags and carry them around because they can put tampons and/or pads. also we like to carry around makeup....its a girl thing. and guys can have a handbag there is some specially made for men

a million. not all females prefer or carry purses 2. some adult males prefer or carry purses too (do not generalize a set of people into one) Why do many females and a few adult males carry a handbag is by technique of the fact we characteristic stuff we prefer in it . it is not that not basic to comprehend . i in my opinion continuously carry my wallet , one extra pad and tampon , deodorant , a e book , my service dogs's identity , chapstick , a granola bar , and a water bottle .

Men have lots of pockets but women dont plus if women did have lots of pockets we would not like to spoil the look of our clothes with filling them with all sorts of rubbish, get a handbag if you like but be prepared for funny looks. lol.
