You need to walk on a treadmill not run , if you run you will exercise your cardio not burn fat .

Its important to keep to a certain heart rate ( cant tell you exactly as it depends on your age ).

Usually there should be a heart rate chart on a treadmill for both fat burn and cardio. Also some treadmills have a special set up programs .

I wouldn't worry too much about the times and inclines , you need to walk as long as you can - but to keep your heart rate at that particular level. And of course the sensible diet, and abdominal exercises !

Good luck

Tread mills are actually not a great way to lose the tummy. Since the "ground" is running underneath you, you're using less muscle power because there is less resistance. I would recommend jogging. Start slow, maybe 2-3 times a week and work your way up to every day, or as much as you see fit. The distance is up to how much you can take at first, and again, work your way up to a good distance, say 3-5 miles.

Target weight loss is a myth. Your body stores fat where it wants it, and how much it wants. Any kind of exercise will reduce the overall fat on your body, if done regularly. Jogging move the whole body, so its a great workout, and runners generally have flat stomachs.

Treadmill workouts are good for cardio, endurance, and to burn calories. It does not, however, provide any targeted exercise to your upper body. Even if you add arm elements (weights, etc), you don't work your abdominal muscles.

"Slow treadmill workout carried out for an hour leads to the burning of about 200 calories. And if the intensity is increased to a medium level, it is likely to lead to a loss of approx 700 calories. For people, who do not feel like doing a vigorous workout at gym, treadmill serves as an excellent option for their exercising. Treadmill walking helps in toning your body muscles, thereby ensuring your overall body fitness. Also, it is extremely safe for the pregnant woman, as there are no side effects of carrying out this exercise."

As noted, it is safe for pregnant women, which should indicate that it does not work (or otherwise affect) the abdominal area.

To help reduce belly fat, you need to do abdominal exercise. The simplest is sit-ups/crunches. You can vary those in many ways, such as working to the sides, adding a medicine ball/free weight, using a bosu (or other) ball, and using many of the machines available at your local health club. My workout usually included crunches and two apparatus to work my abdominals.

quickest, most efficient and healthiest way to lose any type of weight and TONE (the most important part) is circiut training, which means you have to go from cardio to weights every few mins tageting different muscle groups! good luck... join a gym (it IS worth it) find one with a day care!!! and talk to a personal trainer about circuit training he or she can give you a routin thats perfect for your body!!!!

you can't lose tummy on thread mill, unless you run more than enough so that you lose so much fat. But why would you want to do that?

If you want to loose tummy fat, then the best thing to do is sit ups, or any other abdominal exercises.

Well when you run, it also exercises the sides and tummy, so I wouldn't worry about that too much.
