I'm writing an essay, and I don't know what to write for an intoduction. Please help me, do write an overview of The Great Depression or what?

Your introduction should be tailored to your paper. Your first sentence should be the topic sentence for the entire paper (answer this question in a complete sentence : What is your paper about?). Then write a few sentences doing the same thing for each paragraph. Presto! You've got an introductory paragraph!

The Great Depression was an economic collapse that began in 1929 the U.S. and spread to the rest of the world, lasting through most of the 1930's. Just as civilization was in a turmoil related to the enormous changes brought on by scientific advances and the industrial revolution, the Great Depression is considered to be a part of the turmoil brought on by the enormous changes related to the beginnings of globalization and the clash of economic systems and practices.
