With the cd player in my car, I can quit listening and come back exactly where I was. With my portable, I have to remember the track I was on when I quit the day before and start again fairly close to where I was. What feature do I need to look for in a portable that will save my place even after I turn it off? Any ideas of preferred brands?

Pausing works but if you leave it on pause overnight, you will run through batteries too fast.

I have an real old one with a play/pause button just pause it and when you press it again it goes to the place you were.Its a Samsung

My Sony Walkman CD Player is the best! It will play where I left off everytime, and has so many more features. And, it is also a CDRW player, which means it will play all downloaded CDs too!
