In his new film Norbit is Eddie Murphy disrespecting black women? Does he continues to perpetuate negative stereotypical images that large black women are sexually aggressive, unattractive, violent and promiscuous. Are these types of negative images damaging to our community especially during black history month? Is it just a movie? Is he taking it too far? What do you think?

It doesn't matter if I am fat, white, Latino, short, gay or ugly. Being mean spirited and cruel to a specific group is a form of prejudice and discrimination. We as black people we never see the whole picture. We are so use to laughing at our self. We are happy to be the butt of the jokes. We are our own worst enemy. Everyone in the black community should be ashamed and insulted by this movie. Yes there are Big Mama's House and Medea. I have to admit it. I love me some Madea and Martin. There has been some protest and dialogue regarding these movies too. When we see these images are people laughing with us or at us? Yes, I heard the movie is funny but at whose expense? I find this question quite interesting because VH1 was doing a show of black stereotypes. I think Hollywood loves to depict African Americans in a negative light. I thought the character Norbit was stupid too. I have lost respect for Eddie Murphy. We have seen these images in Gone with the Wind, mammy, Hattie McDaniel, Neil Carter, Give me a break, Mo'Nique etc. Why does Hollywood think it's OK to make fun of overweight black women? Why do we laugh? We are so much more than this black people. Usually larger black women in African American communities are often celebrated. We should all know what some people see in a movie as fiction is their reality. I think Eddie took it too far. We all have a family member including Eddie Murphy who is considered obese. Some women might not find Eddie attractive. They might think he is too dark and ugly.

these days it might could be Ben Stiller as Adam Sandler is attending to be too juvenile, Eddie Murphy looks to have lost a step interior the previous couple of years because of the fact the nutty Professor. Jack Black would be a centred 2d yet I nonetheless have problems along with his Tenacious D & the p.c.. of destiny action picture. What replace into he questioning? Ben Stiller wins as he did the voice Alex in Madagascar and his skill to direct as properly.

Well it is a stereotype, also Nikki from Parkers protrayed that stereotype of large Black women. I don't think it's intentional but that's how it's coming across. Not all Black women are overweight and obnixous and not all overweight Black women behavior like that.
