What is the problem?
If there is indeed trouble with the pump, there isn't much you can do with it yourself. A test bench and special tools are required to make repairs and adjustments.
The best thing to do is to remove the pump and have it serviced by a diesel pump repair shop. You can find one either in the yellow pages or do a "Google" for a shop near you.
As a general rule, you can get an "Exchange"unit for around $250.00.

the 1st individual who responded gave you all the specs, so I won't waste some time overlaying them back. you may observe, notwithstanding, that the greater present day-form diesel engines don't get as efficient gasoline mileage because of the fact of latest rules that have been located on vehicle manufacturers. greater present day fashions now spray a small quantity of diesel gasoline into the exhaust. this way it burns away carbon and decreases the quantity of pollutants interior the air. the downside is that it creates a lesser gasoline mileage and wears out the gasoline injectors quicker. once you're rather searching for a diesel engine with good gasoline mileage, basically seek the marketplace intently. i've got have been given a 'ninety two F-350 7.3L diesel that I dearly love and that i'll guess I pay a million/2 as lots each week in gasoline as my mom does along with her 'ninety 9 sidestep Ram 1500 (gas). wish this facilitates. in case you have any questions, be at liberty to e mail me.

Crack a line at the injector pump to see how much pressure there is. If pressure is weak you need a fuel pump. If pressure is good you may need to set or replace injectors
