I can't bring myself to drink from someone elses bottle, and I could never take a bite from a chocolate bar someone else had been eating. Are you the same?

YES! My entire life I've been that way. I couldn't even share food with my mom when I was a child. People always hassle me about it and think I'm being greedy but that's NOT the issue!! I will share but I CANNOT eat or drink something that has someone elses saliva on it! I suddenly lose my appetite and it's not enjoyable anymore. I shared my first drink at 15 and it was only because I was desperate. If someone wants a bite of my food, I have to cut a piece off with my own fork and give it to them. I don't want their fork on my plate. I'll reluctantly let people take bites of my food sometimes only if they bite from the opposite side and then I have to stop eating it right before I get to the part they bit into. Even if I'm still hungry, I can't eat the part they had their mouth on.

I think it's an OCD but it's not exactly about germs. It's more about saliva mixed with food. I'll eat something I dropped on the floor so I know it's not about germs. Everyone always asks the same question which is, "How can you kiss people?" I think that's stupid because it's not about KISSING, it's a FOOD issue!! I'm 28 years old and I still will not drink from the same glass that my mom or boyfriend is using. There is ONE exception, I have been known to share alcoholic beverages but only to a point. Once the glass is almost empty, I can't take that last sip though.

I won't share drinks. And if I want a bite from someone's chocolate bar, I'd ask them to break off a piece for me from the other end of it.

I can only do it with people I know really well, otherwise, if someone took a sip from my drink I would give it to them as I couldn't touch it.

My pet hate is having to share a handtowel in work, I have real issues with this, and its only a small office.

I usually do not eat things like candy bars after people. That is disgusting. I will drink after someone if I know they are very clean people and they take care of themselves and aren't likely to have any diseases. Eating after people is more intimate somehow. I eat after my boyfriend but I don't think I'd eat after anyone else.

yuck, I wouldn't drink from someone else's bottle. except maybe a boyfriends if I was really thirsty. I'll take a sample of a friend's cocktail though! A bit of something they were eating where their mouth had touched I wouldn't.
We are either prude or paranoid i think.

If I know the person well, I will drink from the same cup or eat from the same fork, but I wouldn't share a bottle because backwash is just too gross to swallow

I'm afraid of catching Chlamydia from someone elses bottle.

The only person I can share with is my husband. Of course, we've shared germs many times already :)
It's especially gross when my 3 yr. old takes a sip, I have to either give it to him, or toss it, because he leaves "floaties" in there. That's way grosser than backwash.

billy won't do the snickers bar but it's against drunk etiquette to turn down a passed bottle, an example is working men pass a bottle at a friends wake, you NEVER decline that.
