Sydney is such a multicultural city that you can buy any type of food there. You just have to find the suburb where the Indians mainly live to buy Indian food. I don't know how much it is, but it would be much more than in India (they have to ship it to Sydney).

House prices are very expensive, and there is no justification for the prices ... greed is the only reason for it.

Food prices are much lower than in Europe, but I guess much more than in India. But the quality is outstanding; everything is fresh and delicious.

Mobile prices vary. Shop around and don't rush into a contract. Read all the opions and get the best one for you. Prices vary widely.

Travel can be expensive on trains if you travel at peak times, and don't go far. If you travel outside peak times, and go a long way, its cheap. Toll roads are appearing all over Sydney now, and some are a downright rip-off. (eg. Cross City Tunnel)

Petrol is around $1.20 to $1.30 a litre.

Hope all this helps

Take a look at the classified ads in the Sydney Morning Herald for house prices and rental costs. http://www.smh.com.au

Saturday is the best day. You should get a lot of other information there as well.
