I think you just made $100
Normally, I would agree with the coasting/resting theory. But I don't think Avery Johnson will let them coast. I also don't think the guys from last years NBA Finals will want to coast either. They layed off for one quarter in Game 3 and look what happened.
Barring a major injury (knock on wood) Dallas is deep enough to keep the throttle up through the regular season and the playoffs.
Go Mavs!!!!!!!!

For starters, you should not gamble. The rush and surge of a gambling high is difficult to break. The addiction is tied to the rush and not to the winnings. Nevertheless, you will lose your $100. Dirk Nowitski will suffer a career-ending injury next week. He will sign an autograph with a Sharpie and suffer ink poisoning in his shooting arm. It will atrophe and he will only be able to use to swat small flies. Coach Johnson will be indicted (not inducted) on money laundering charges. Josh Howard will sprain his ankle for the 5th time. The NBA has a rule that disallows players from ever playing again after 5 sprains. He is done.
Owner Cuban is going to sell the team to Howard K Stern of Anna Nicole Smith fame. He will move the team to the Bahamas and attempt to steal every one of the Miami Heat season ticket holders. His marketing campaign will fail. Heat season ticket holders will die under suspicious circumstances and their bodies will be flown to Nassau for burial. Last but not least, Jerry Stackhouse will sign a record deal and work Vegas. He will grow to be an old, fat, and uglier than Wayne Newton. You see, Dallas will not even reach 55 wins. Sorry, but stop gambling at once!
Saved by grace,
Rev. Johnny

Nope, if you remember 2 years ago people were talking around the All-Star break, saying they were going to win 70 and they ended up with 62. When they get closer to the end of the season they will slow down both from fatigue and from resting their stars for the playoffs.

coastin... 60 isn't gonna rap up HC with Phoenix behind them... but I say give 'em the 1 seed. I predict they will win 65 to 68... probably my guess would be 65.

Nope, they'll get around 60. They'll start resting players when they got home court wrapped up.
