tried most of them when i been fishing, the only thing that really works, is AVON'S skin so soft, i live in Scotland, we have terrible midges here and the bites are bad, all the guys wondered why they never came around me, thats why, it took a while to convince them but now the fishing shops here have it, it really does work, and it smells lovely and as the name implies it leaves it feeling silky smooth,

None at all. I never use the stuff. I always camp and those around me that use insect repellent are always getting eating alive while I get one or two bites. It's a scam. Don't get it. It's bad for you anyway.

Cinnamon works great on the natural remedy side for placing around your house foundation. There are also citronella type candles avail for table tops, torches, etc. For the skin, I haven't had much luck with any products since my skin is hyper-sensitive to most materials (including the hypo-allergenic ones). I do know that studies have been done stating that most flies, mosquitoes are attracted to sweat, though.
Good luck.
