Yes, I think that every woman wants to feel as if there is a male counterpart out there to protect them. But, there is a fine line. Women DO NOT want to feel as if they DEPEND upon a man for their financial or emotional security. There is something oppressive about that (at least in my opinion). I strive VERY hard to take care of myself. I saw how my mother's life was very limited by her situation, so I worked very hard academically and professionally to ensure that I could take care of myself. But, don't get me wrong, going at it alone is no fun.....It is always nice to have a partner by your side to share life with.

Women who are comfortable with their lives and gender like the feeling of being protected by a man. If a woman is insecure and ultra feminist then it would actually make her feel better if YOU felt protected by HER.

Depends, I like to feel protected and comforted by a my man because it shows their sweet, naturing, and protective side because they care for me but protectiveness have it limits. I like to know he will have my back no matter what my happen and I have his. Being protected by a man doesn't make you weak or less strong and independent. However, I can protect myself to because I' am strong, can kick@ss when I have too, smart, capable, and can look out for myself. I' am in no way, anybody dismal in distress.

Yes... its nice to have someone around protecting you. However it is important for a man to realize when he is being too protective, that is just annoying...remember a little concern is comferting but too much is a nusance!

Absolutely. My husband I were separated the last few months, and I had troubles sleeping at night. Now that we are back together again, I feel so secure with him next to me, and my insomnia is completely gone. It is definitely important for most women to have a strong, protective man in their lives!

Generally speaking? Are women not individuals? Why would you possibly ask a question that lumps 50% of the world's population together as one person. Do you understand just how insulting that is?
