Yes. I don't think that these co workers should be there. They probably hold other negative characteristics. Like there lazy on the job, talk bad about there job, talk how there job sucks, etc.
Find out if your company has a confidential number where you can make a report. There usually posted by the breakroom or next to the employee rghts posters.
Report them losers. I hope they get fired. I heard of people getting fired for stealing coffee and other peoples food.

Tough one. Unethical behavior to be sure but unless the employer actually owns the vending machine and the product inside he or she may not have a dog in that fight. Beyond that, one employee is easier to replace (or limp by without) than four.
From the employer's point of view it is likely to be a question of who was stolen from rather than what was stolen. As long as it doesn't come out of his or her bottom line, you may be putting yourself in a difficult situation by speaking up. There only difference between a whistleblower and a tattletale is the perception of the party entertaining the complaint. You should proceed with caution.

The vending machines on campus charge something like 1.70 for a bottle of water. isnt that stealing too? You can get a huge bulk package with many bottles of bottled water from costco for just a few dollars... it is absurd.

I don't think I'd point the finger at them, per se. Odds are they weren't the only ones doing it. But I would tell somebody the machine is unlocked. And I'd say "that could lead to people not paying for the drinks". Some company's provide drinks for their employees. Do they leave it unlocked on purpose?

Absolutely...for everyone's sake- An employee that steals from and employer is also stealing from the other employees, indirectly. Theft=less profit=less money for pay

I'd be uncomfortable working with people with that attitude to honesty (however common it may be).
But wrecking a working office over it isn't much fun either.
Take it to your boss as a hypothetical
"What would you/the company expect me to do if I noticed small scale pilfering at work?"

It's not worh the trouble it would cause. If you feel bad leave some money for the vending guy he will appreciate it.

Yes! A thief is a thief! As for the mullet head who got the TV, he has just confessed to blackmail, conspiracy, and receiving stolen property. With any luck, he will soon be having his meals served to him, .......behind bars.
