John Mayer "Belief" is my pick.
In how they think it ought to be
Everyone believes
And they're not going easily
Belief is a beautiful armor
But makes for the heaviest sword
Like punching under water
You never can hit who you're trying for
Some need the exhibition
And some have to know they tried

It's the chemical weapon
For the war that's raging on inside
Everyone believes
From emptiness to everything
Everyone believes
And no ones going quietly
We're never gonna win the world
We're never gonna stop the war
We're never gonna beat this
If belief is what we're fighting for
What puts a hundred thousand children in the sand
Belief can
Belief can
What puts the folded flag inside his mother's hand
Belief can
Belief can

There have actually been albums made to the theme of anti-war. Green Day "American Idiot" was made to that theme and John Mayer's "Continuum" was made to that theme to some degree.
Other anti war songs (and there are TONS).

yea, Bob Dylan is your best bet.... Antiwar? try looking at some Jefferson Airplane, Doors, The Kinks.... i mean most bands from the 60's and early 70's have literary meaning. It was just how music lyrics were written for most the bands in that time.

How about Sgt. Barry Sadler's "Ballad of the Green Beret?" It has all the elements you are looking for and isn't anti-American.
