!st off- you're only a junior so improve that GPA (ASAP). Only Community Colleges will usually accept those under a 3.0. You need to take your SAT's this year and take them more then once if your score is below a about 1050 (just Critical Reading/Math). Check with the school(s) you're looking into to see if your Writing/Essay scores will also count. Do you do any Community Service work? Most schools are very competative and only take the best applicants who get good grades, do well on their test scores, and have outside activities. We are going through all of this now as our daughter took 1 year off beore jumping into college. Keep improving that GPA and get involved in some community service work. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, depends on the college that you apply to. Some will penalize you for your freshmen year performance while others would commend you on your improvement.

The colleges that I applied to (the UC's)... don't even consider freshmen year grades.. they only look at sophmore and junior year's... sucks for me since I had a 4.0 freshmen year. -__-

Yes, Schools look at improvement and 2.7 isn't that bad, get your SAT done and get a good score on it and volunteer, it shows that you not only care about yourself. Good Luck.
