Broken hymen?

Question

We had not have any intercourse yet but my partner gently fingered me on several occasions which did not cause any bleeding. Today he did it roughly and the bleeding came. I suspect the hymen is broken since he did it roughly this time but it might also be caused by his fingernails cutting the vaginal wall? I've checked that his nails are nice and short though. Is there a way to find out what caused the bleeding? How long will the bleeding last? After 6 hours, I still see a little blood :-S

Thanks all for the answers. The bleeding stopped this morning - no rashes, no soreness. I didn't finger myself earlier because it looks scary to touch so I let my husband do the job for me :-)

I think your hymen is broken because the bleeding occur when you boyfriend fingered you. Just relax and remain calm the bleeding should be light and shouldn't last that long. The hymen is not an indicator of virginity, so don't worry because most girls aren't born with a hymen or it wore away naturally through activities. If the bleeding continues, see your gyno.

The hymen is simply a membraneous layer in women - although most regularly broken during initial sexual intercourse, it can be broken easily anyway. It is a toughened membrane but there are no rights or wrongs - everybody's different and it's not infrequently known for the hymen to be ruptured without bleeding. Maybe ur hymen got broken, the bleeding shouldn't last long it would go away in one day, if it continues I think u should see a doctor.

he probabaly broke your hymen
