Easy. Fill the offending port with soft cheese, go to maplins and buy a new one. Swallow replacement port. Wait for 24-48 hours, reclaim from basin of "armitage shanks" and exchange.

They are on my IBM motherboard, so I would have to replace the motherboard to fix mine.

So I add a PCMCIA 4 port high speed USB card. Not only did I gain some ports, they are now 2.0 highspeed.

Still, ck the mrf, perhaps you can get a replacement solder on unit (if your motherboard is not multi-layer).

NO you can't coz it is on the motherboard.A solution however, is to get an external PS2 docking station.(it has to be connected to the PS/ mouse connecter) Be sure to mention that when you buy it.I am sure a standard one will have a Ps2 connecter, usb, and a lot other connections which might prove to be helpful.Check for prices on E-Bay.Good luck
