Nothing is wrong with my HP notebook and the backlight works nice and bright. The problem is that when I plug it in to charge it and still use it, the backlight dims and makes it harder to see the screen. Is their an option to turn this off and keep the backlight on?

The power options in control panel has no setting to fix this. The question is still open.

This sounds like a setting in your Power Options. Btw, it's usually the other way around, ususally it dims on un-plugged to save the battery!

Might be you can just increase the brightness on the keyboard. My IBM is Function PageUp to brighten the screen.

It may be the battery, not the charger.
