Are You using Broadband Internet? If yes then it generally uses LAN card... and if you have connected two PC's through LAN then HOW can just one LAN card will perform both tasks.. So You need to have two LAN cards on the Primary PC (i.e. the PC on which you have Internet connection). So as two perform two sharings... one with the server of Broadband provider and other with the secondary PC.

Are you using Win XP Home or Pro? Win 98 or Win98 SE?

The easiest way (and fastest) is to use a router to "distribute" your connection to the other PC's, this has several other advantages such as built in fire walls etc. (usually).
Are you using a broadband connection? If so does this have spare ports that allow your router to act as a hub?
This could be your easiest solution!

As the previous reply pointed out, if you don't have a router/hub etc. your Win XP machine will need to have two network cards and these will require further setup so the Win XP machine knows to send all internet traffic to the second card and incomming traffic to the other card etc.

Can you please elaborate on your connection type?
