I started working out but i just dont like bench pressing, but my friend said i need to start bench pressing cuz i never do bench press workouts. Im also trying to get my arms bigger for basketball season next year, so my question does bench pressing help with your chest and shoulders or does it help gain arm muscle too?

It has the biggest effect on your chest, yes. But it also is a great help with your triceps, especially if you do close-grip bench presses ( bench presses with your hands close together on the bar).

The bench press is also a big help with your shoulder muscles, your upper back muscles, and your abs. Like doing squats, the bench press helps build quite a few muscle groups.

Bench pressing probably helps your pectoral muscles the most. If you want bigger biceps and triceps I would recommend doing curls.

It mainly works your chest and triceps. If you want bigger biceps I suggest you do bicep curls.
