Oh, I hate these questions. Ok the STi, if you have the money is great. Handling, power, sleeper look, it's got it all. The Si. . . well, it's a Civic. And there is a 6 month waiting list on the new ones?!? I don't know what people are thinking. Ok, the Civic Si does have some redeaming qualities. Yes, it is better on gas but it's a N/A car. N/A cars that have worse gas mileage than the STi are the LS1 corvettes and the 6.0 Hemi, just to name a few. I see a trend hear, HUGE DISPLACEMENT. And the Civic's displacement. . . well, it's tiny. Thus the 195 hp. If I'm not mistaken, the Civic is FWD. While this is good for daily driving, it is NOT a performace aspect. The AWD of a Subaru, great for rally, not too bad for drag if you know what you're doing. I've had FWD before I bought my WRX and when there was an inch of snow, I couldn't go anywhere with my FWD but in the AWD I was passing 4x4 trucks with ease.

Ok, so the Civic really doesn't have any redeaming qualities. . . other than lower price tag. Remember though, you get what you pay for.

the answer is simple. youre obviously into tuning and you may think that the sti is a bit more of a "soccer mom car" being a sedan and all, but thats the great thing about it. the sti is putting out 320 hp while the civic is putting down only 197, still nice for a factiory spec car, but not even close to the sti. when you calculatre in the weight, the sti is pushing 10.19lbs of its weight for every horsepower it has, while the civic is pushing 14.60lbs per horsepower. the sti also comes stock with a 1/4 time of just above 12 seconds and can easily be improved. also the all wheel drive capabilitile of the sti cant be matched by the civic. Well i hope this helped, but you should also look into the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII or IX.

The Sti is making 300 hp. It depends on what you want out of the car as to what you should get. The Sti is awd and a much better handling car and will outrun the si if you want a faster car get the sti. The civic is nice and probably better on gas but it is not comparable to the sti in performance.

Honda Civic Si's, while very nice, do not hold a candle to an STi. The Subaru is better on every level. My question to you though is, if you have the money to buy an STi, why would you even consider a Civic?

STi all the way. Better performance machine and there are many websites devoted to the performance of these cars.

It's going to cost big bucks to get the civic even close to the performace of the STi.

The only real drawback is that insurance rates on the STi are higher then on the civic.

This one is easy. STI does and will kill and SI (Stock) Even the WRX will destroy an SI civic stock. Dont waist your time with an Honda civic when you are considering an STI.

there is no comparison between these two cars you mentioned. the sti is a super fast go kart, crappy ride, but can tame any twisty. the civic is much more palatable over the road, but can't handle anywhere near the sti.

if you find an sti that hasen't been beaten, go for it.
