If you're looking for something quiet, just eight miles north of the Myrtle Beach area is North Myrtle Beach which offers beaches that are less crowded, the pace is much slower, and fewer
high rise hotels help to maintain a family oriented atmosphere.

There was some useful information here last time i looked

http://beachvacations.reviewandresourcecenter.com

and a free Beach Guide at

http://www.yourinternettravelguide.com/freeguides.php

that included Myrtle Beach

Hope it helps
