GoGgles are worn mainly to keep things out of a skier's or snowboarder's eyes. These can include snow, rain and wind.
I know from occasionally skiing that while you're skiing down a mountain there is some heavy wind resistance going against you which can kick up a lot of things into your eyes, the wind being one of them. As the wind speed picks up the friction against your eyes also increases and your eyes start to water, an involuntary reflexive reactia (that's scientist talk for something your body does automatically when it's in danger) to help protect your eyes from possible damage. If your eyes didn't water you could face some bad damage to the thin layer of gloss that coats your eye and possibly the harder under layer beneath that first protective barrier which all in all could result in blurry vision for at least 2-3 days.

First of all let me say that this question shouldn't be in the swimming catagory because ski goggles and swim goggles are totally different! Anyway, I'm a skier and a swimmer soooo, goggles are used in skiing to prevent wrecks caused by, wind and flying snow! Also the orange or red lenses help you see the ice patches, moguls and bumps on the trails. Hope this helps!

well, i wear goggles while i ski because if i dont, the wind blows in my eyes and makes them water. it also keeps snow from getting in your eyes.

Im not sure but i think its cuz of the cold weather and the wind. you would be closing your eyes cuz snow could come towards your eyes and if you are on a slope you could fall or colapse.
that would be pppppurtty dangerous.
