If your dog is running free on farmers land then he has the right to shoot your dog.....regardless of what your dog is doing.
To be safe, keep your dog on a lead when you're on farm land...if the farmer shoots your dog then you can prosecute him for firearms offences.

Any canines considered chasing sheep could nicely be shot on sight, definite. Sheep can die from being run to death via an excited canines--no farmer needs to be sure lifeless sheep in his container. it quite is the comparable with cows, ducks, chickens, etc. If a canines is bothering the farmer's livlihood, it quite is not under administration of the owner and that they could legally shoot it. frequently while somebody posts an illustration like that they have lost important sort of cattle to predation via canines in the previous and are not likely to be forgiving while they see stray or unfastened canines on their factors.

The Farmer is fully within his right to shoot the dog, whether it's on private or public land!
Personally I think the law STINKS
I bet I'd never get away with shooting the mad-cows that chase me & my dog (who is on a lead) out of their field whilst on a public footpath!
