The minimum that you will need is. A case, motherboard,cpu,cpu cooling(fan and heatsink),power supply, memory,CD or DVD rom, 3.5 floppy(there cheap put it in) hard drive and an operating system. Most new motherboards come with integated LAN, sound, and graphics. also check out MYSUPERPC.COM, PCMECH.COM/BUILD.htm both are really good sites for first timers. You will also need an operating system and software. This is an excellent chance for you to explore the open source operating systems and other software. You can do a dual boot with your favourite Windows OS.

Go to Best-Buy. Thanks for the spelling lesson glad ya pointed those errors out to me i didn't notice. If something is so obvious it might be for a reason.
