what are the approx. physical dimensions of an ho- scale slot car?

I just measured a couple of my husband's cars...had to dig them out of the attic...
about 2.5" long, 1.25" wide, but there is a fair amount of variation among different models... Longest is about 3.25", shortest about 2"
More or less the same size as matchbox cars.
