The US isn't a monarchy because they were fighting the british and didn't want a monarchy ruling over them. Some people wanted George Washington to be the king but others felt that would be stupid because they were fighting to end a monarchy in the first place.

it was founded after a costly war with a monarchistic government because of dissatisfaction over power consolidated in one individual. Even after choosing a democratic election to choose a nation leader they devised three administrative branches of which that individual would head the weakest. Today the power of the White House seems larger than the others, but Congress' condemnation of extra troops in Iraq shows how the other administrative branches are not exactly toothless.

America was settle, predominantly, by people who fled their homelands because of oppressive monarchs. It wouldn've been a bit contradictory for Americans to have established their own monarchy after they rebelled against one, right?

monarcies exist from nations that go back thousands of years...america is much newer, and exists because people from all over moved there..it would be difficult to suddenly create a monarchy out of nowhere

Because we didn't want to be, we fought the Revolutionary War with England to be free of it. Doesn't anyone teach American History anymore??????
