Let's start with the assumption that "god made adam and eve" (sic).

That is an origin myth and does not reflect reality.

If you start with that as the basis for your thinking, you are bound to end up in a philosophical cul de sac.

Who said adam and eve were white? Seriously, why would they be? Also, where does it say that God made JUST two people... He pretty much had to make more after that, after all, they only had one son that had a wife.. where did the wife come from?
For the one that said Jews portrayed Adam and Eve as white.. try again, that was European Christians, Jews are all over the planet, with all different levels of melanin, and they have found similar and distinctive genetics in Jews from Europe, the middle east, and eve Africa..

Adam and Eve were likely not white, but dark-skinned. The people indigenous to the area where the Garden of Eden is believed to be are all dark-skinned. The image that biblical characters are white is based on Anglo-Saxon and Catholic concepts. In order to have people believe their versions of faith, they adopted the images of biblical figures to be white people, so that parishioners could more readily identify with them. Also, there was likely some racism involved, as the Europeans believed themselves superior to the rest of the world. The thought that a dark-skinned person was in any way superior to them, especially in the eyes of God, was unfathomable.

the bible doesnt say adam and eve were white. thats just how they were represented by european (white) artists, who made the most famous pictures of them. if you went to africa, the pictures would probably show black people. when they read the bible and invisaged 'a man and a woman' thats what they came up with, i guess. the same goes for jesus, he probably wasnt white, as all those famous paintings show him too be. anyway, think about how adam and eve populated the world. thats ALOT of incest. all their grandkids would be all deformed and a bit retarded (for want of a better word) and may not live to adulthood or reproduce. the story doesnt really work does it? the race issue is just a side issue.

I'm not sure where you get the idea that Adam & Eve were White. The Garden of Eden was most likely located in Africa and if it was, Adam & Eve were far more likely to have been Black than White. If they weren't Black, they were more closely related to Arabic (Middle Eastern) or Mediterranean than White.

Same goes for Christ. He was NOT a Caucasian! The Arabic and Hebrew inhabitants of the Holy Land were of similar racial origin and were more Arabic, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and Black than anything else.

Caucasians -- Whites -- trace their origins to the Caucusus and Northern Europe. Adam & Eve and Christ Himself were anything but Northern European. The were African and / or Middle Eastern, NOT White!

Different races evolved over time as humans roamed the Earth and settled in different climates. Skin color lightened in colder climates since protection from the sun was no longer needed. As you move farther from the equator, skin color tends to lighten somewhat. As you move further north into Arctic regions, eyes tend to be more deeply set with a fold of fat to protect them from the extreme cold resulting in the distinctive Aleut appearance of Alaskan natives. Native Americans migrated from Asia over 5,000 years ago across the land bridge that existed connecting northern Asia and North America. They brought Asian characteristcs with them that are still seen today. Their skin darkened somewhat due to more temperate climate in southern parts of North America and the differences in skin color still exist today -- tribal peoples of Northern Canada are noticeably ligher skinned than those who migrated to the southern US and Mexico.

darkness in the skin occurs as protection from ultra violet radiation in sunlight and comes from pigmentation of the chemical melanin. However, excessive melanin can cause a vitamin B deficiency, so when humans migrated to colder climes where they didn't need the protection the pigment faded to preserve vitamin B and the need to go scavenging for specific plants that could provie it, or an area that was vitamin B sparse.

In short other races are evidence for evolution over creationism.

The "who's on first" was a comedy skit a long time ago on the radio. He probably just got upset because he was trying to hiself around you and heard it and thought it was funny and thought you'd think so too. And he was trying to impress you with his humor but probably just felt like he looked like an idiot and got shot down. I can understand how he'd be a little sore but he shouldn't be rude. If I were you I would just tell him that you get the joke now and you think it's funny (even if you don't) and he probably will talk to you and all will be well. I hope that helps. :)

Adam and Eve are part of the Judeo-Christian creation myth. Since the Jews were white, they pictured their god as white and so his creations were white as well.

Science is fact, not myth. It shows evidence of the first humans evolving in Africa and gradually spreading north and eventually all over the world. The first humanoids were doubtless black, but over millions of years, skin color, hair texture and other superficial characteristics evolved and changed...leading to the many varieties and "races" we see today.

Because god didn't make adam and eve and everyone come from them...

scientists have identified the first humans were black, and from africa - however. when we moved over the world, we evolved into the races we are today because of climate, diet etc.

Personally I don't belive the Bible's creation story as historical or scientifically truthful. These stories were most likely told via oral tradition for thosands of years before humakind developed reading and writing. And who ever said they were white. If Eden ever existed they would most likely have been middle eastern in apperance, whites came from Europe.
