I would just go with a basic avatar...
My wife is on here often, She used an actual photo of herself as her avatar.... Boy, did the freaks come out for that! People would also give her rude remarks often based on the photo.
I really think that many people on Y/A scroll through and look for avatars of hot women... sad huh?
I'm a 36 y/o male, I think if I downloaded a photo of a hot woman as my avatar, I would get the same results!

Believe me, I have tried to make my avatar fat! However, Yahoo, in all their infinite wisdom has decided that they will make it impossible for avatar's to be obese.
Go ahead, I dare you, try to make your's fat.
The fattest setting is skinnier then probably 90% of people.
Let's start a "Fat Avatar Petition."
