The "insurgents" in Iraq are freedom fighters. They are fighting the invaders and won't stop until we leave.
If the US was invaded, and the invaders were killing hundreds of thousands of us, wouldn't you do your best to kill as many of them as possible?

Is that why they kidnap, torture and kill other Iraqis, because they are "freedom fighters"? What about the homicide bombers? They are all murders!

The Iraqi people, who literally risked their lives to vote, are the "freedom fighters." They are risking all to finally get a government that answers to them, and not the other way around.

Do not confuse them with the terrorists and insurgents who are fighting AGAINST freedom. They are risking all to PREVENT the people of Iraq from a free and stable government.
Again, they are NOT FREEDOM FIGHTERS - quite the contrary.

I'm not sure they are freedom fighters, but they are fighting to make sure their group gets power.

The sad truth is that these groups have long hates each other and it was only Saddam's brutal taticts that keep them from fighting a long time ago. Now that there is a power vacuum they are fighting among themselves (the definition of a civil war).

The problem is the Bush would have been able to for see this if he had listened to the career people at the State department rather then his incompetent political appointees.

We're going to get a lot of thumbs-down, but you're damn straight.

Expand the scenario to the current flap with Iran. If Canada had been invaded by China, don't you think that elements of our government and military and intelligence services would have an obligation to assist those in Canada who were resisting the invaders?

The moral relativism of those "suppporting the troops" is bewildering to me. I honestly think that they are unable to imagine being invaded or in a war zone.

Uh, Zachary, most of the insurgents ARE Iraqi.

Turn off Faux (sorry, Fox) "News" and get a dose of reality.
