The truth of the matter is that you will not change your personality type. Instead you can work on yourself and improve yourself. Direct your energies to being the best you can be as you are. It is such a waste of time trying to be what you are not.

I don't think you can (without brain surgery). There are many theories on personality types.
(SIDE NOTE: Here is something you may not have considered. Some attributes can be diet and exercise related. Your endocrine system responds to this with glandular output. Changes in your diet and exercise patterns can change your apparent personality.)
Behavior modification: Maybe you can train yourself to emulate whatever type you desire. You might be able to mask your "true self". There may be some attributes that are more learned than genetic. Perhaps you can learn to exhibit the more desirable personality attributes. However, in the end, traits that may be part of your genetic makeup, cannot really be changed. Learn to live with them!

Yes. When I was about 13, my personality completely flipped. I went from being a girly hippie to a horror-loving tomboy. Examples: My 2 favorite things in the world are fire and edged weapons, which I was deathly afraid of when I was younger. I hated horror movies and could't stand the sight of blood. Now, the bloodier the horror movie, the better. The last major example is the woods. When I was younger, I hated being in the woods because they scared me. Now I spend A LOT of time in the woods; I can map the woods behind my house from memory... :D Hope this helps ^_^

there are four types of personalities. Promoter, supporter, analyzer, controller. you find out which one you are, then learn the other four. find out what TYPE the other people in your life are, then learn to meet them in the middle. become the other type, and if you feel better being that one that you ARE, consciously use the traits of the other types, and make it a part of your daily life. there are positives and negatives in every type. focus on positivly changing into a being who knows what you are and how to find a balance.

I'm going to use two extremes for this example.
If you're incredibly cocky, then jack up your hair and clothing, so that you can't afford to be anything other than humble.
If you're a little wimpish, then get a make-over, pump yourself up and go out with a crowd that reflects your desired character type.

It's as simple as deciding what you would like to be and taking the steps you must take to get there. You're on the right track just asking what YOU can do about it rather than thinking that everything around you is responsible for what you are. Some B.C. guy said "Be as you wish to seem". I like to say "we don't find ourselves, we create ourselves".
