You could also find out where they are now living using services to locate ext tenants, one site that provides tenant locate and checking services is http://www.credit-check-services.co.uk .
Once you have found them they can then set up a postal re-direct.

Just drop the mail back in the outgoing slot. You don't have to write anything on it. The mail man knows what to do with it.
