While changing your pH level is dangerous, it can be done by eating acid-producing or alkaline-producing substances. For example, taking massive amounts of vitamin C will probably lower your pH, but this isn't necessarily good. Merely drinking fruit juice, which contains citric acid, won't work because this acid is metabolized or burned up into non-acid compounds. Eating lots of meat also will produce an acidic load on the body, while eating more vegetables, fruits, and grains will produce a basic load. This probably will only make a small change in the pH. Breathing fast will definitely raise your pH, to dangerous levels if do it vigorously. NOTE: You can really hurt yourself by hyperventilating.

Several ways, the easiest is with ventilation. If someone holds their breath, their CO2 will increase and their pH will decrease (respiratory acidosis). Conversely, if someone hyperventilates, they lower their CO2 and increase their pH causing a respiratory alkalosis.

The other ways involve matabolic changes and include things like lactic acid build up from hypoperfusion of tissues (metabolic acidosis), to vomiting and diarrhea which can cause a metabolic alkalosis. People with renal failure have a chronic compensated matabolic acidosis from an inability to excrete organic acids produced through normal matabolic processes.

Well, if you hold your breath for a long time or breathe in and out rapidly you can very slightly change the pH of your blood. I'm not sure if that's what you're asking about or not.

Alkaline base is what you should want, eating whole grains and a variety of veggies and fruits, are good at reaching this, and drinking plenty of water every day.
