I am 26 years old, almost 27, and have been in the design industry for way longer than I would have liked. Unfortunately, circumstances denote that I cannot leave my job to study full-time. I have been wanting a career change for sometime but haven't got round to it. Now I have reached a time in my life when I really want to get out of my current career and do something I really want to do before it's too late. Problem is, I have no idea where to start with regards becoming a vet! I would need a part-time course because of my full-time work commitments but I don't even know what course to look for? Can anyone advise me? Thanks in advance for any answers xx

luddite - firstly thanks for your answer... but I don't think i am being naive at all. I don't know anything about this possible career path, that's why I asked the question, but I do now.

p.s. I have 2 A-Levels Grade B and 2 A-Levels Grade A, one of which is Science (Biology).

I assume you want to become a veterinarian - basically, an animal doctor - instead of a veteran - a person who fought in a war for their country.

You need to find a veterinary school, and get admitted. I've linked to 2 programs at Michigan State University below, but there are other schools also. You can find MSU's admittance requirements below.

One warning - there is a common belief that MSU's college of vet med is even harder to get into than the universitie's 2 human medicine colleges. This is said to be that when a student can't get into the medical schools, they apply to the vet school so that they can at least be a doctor of one kind or another. The belief is that this makes for even more competition for a limited number of spots in the school. I can't say if that's true or not, but the principle could apply to other vet schools as well.
