You should try to borrow a copy of the text they are using, or check out a book on planar geometry from your local library. Online you can try to read through the first book of Euclid's Elements to get the original (much harder but readable in principle) source.

I can't tell you what problems they will give you to prove nor can anyone else except your teacher. But probably they will be proofs that involve proving two triangles congruent and then using the fact that corresponding parts of congruent triangles are congruent. They may also involve similar triangles and ask you to prove a certain proportion is true. Perhaps you migt be asked to prove that the diagonals of a rectangle are equal. Might be something involving parallel lines.

As far as types of proofs go, there is the direct proof, which is used most often and the indirect proof which is also called a reduction to absurdity. There are paragraph proofs and there are two column proofs. Depending on how far along you are in Geometry, you could expect any of these.

There are direct (2-column) proofs, and indirect (contradiction) proofs in geometry. These are the basic 2 types. For direct proofs, there is also a paragraph type and a flow chart type.
