can someone please give me a VERY detailed explanation how to install java on ubuntu 6.06

Select Applications > Add/Remove and then type JAVA in the search box.

1) Get Easy Ubuntu or Automatrix and it will easily install java for you.

2) Manually install Java JRE and Firefox plugin through Ubuntu
