I always wear lots of layers. Instead of wearing underwear i wear a bikini. Usually it does rain (sod's law) but i don't ever think it's that cold so sometimes it's better to strip off (on your top half) to your bikini and a thin t shirt. Getting one layer wet is better than getting 6 layers damp seeing as you don't have a tumble dryer there.
Bright cute wellies are always handy and anything with hoods are essential. Big sunglasses are amazing when you get struck with festival face after the first night. Thin long sleeved tops under t shirts are good-topshop and h and m have basic cheap ones that you wont be too gutted about getting ruined/lost.
But just wear whatever you want-have fun with your clothes. The first day of leeds last year i wore a press dress with wellies and had a great time!

No matter how hot it is in the day, it's usually freezing at night. So don't forget to pack warm clothes, like jumpers and sweatpants for sleeping in.
In the day it could be anything from boiling hot to raining and it's best to be prepared for anything! If you can carry a small bag with you and when you buy your t-shirt you can nip into the loo and change it, keeping the one you were wearing in your bag. I've done that in the past. Or you could take it back to your tent and change there or wear it the next day.
If you think it might rain you could carry one of those raincoats that fold up really small in your bag, but usually they have those free rainproof things to slip on at the mobile phone places.
It can be muddy so wellies are a good idea and you can get some really fun ones. Or if you'd prefer trainers then I'd recommend old ones, same with jeans. Make sure you bring more than one pair of trousers though, because if your jeans get soaked or caked in mud you won't want to wear them the next day.
It can be hard to get it right because of the unpredictable weather, but even if you get it completely wrong it's all part of the fun of the whole thing :)

Lots of layers is the way to go. Long sleeved t-shirts, vest tops, jumpers, leggings under trousers. wear more layers if you are cold. Band t-shirts can be worn over the top of other t-shirts.
Make sure you take waterproofs, thermals and wellies. Once you have got wet it is very hard to get warm again. the thermals because it can get very cold at night too. Make sure you take a blanket or mat to sleep on, helps keep you that bit warmer.
P.S. just wondering how ur gonna go to both reading and leeds festivals?
if you wear long sleeve t-shirts you can tie them around your waste if you get too warm or if you buy a new t-shirt. you can even put a short sleeve t-shirt with a long sleeve inside around your waste, show off two at once (wear one normally too).

Layer up, wear a plain long sleeve under your bad teeshirt, buy hoodies and jackets with band motifs on or perhaps plain colours and then get badges and pins with the motifs on.
Thermals are great, however not so flattering, where under jeans. If you have long boots put them over the jeans instead of under them.

tie a long sleeved one round your waist and put on when cold
get a fanny pack / bum roll and put in waterproof trousers and jacket

As these concerts dont actually take place until the summer time you should wait and see what kind of summer we are going to have. Weather changes that much in the uk, especially Leeds where i live lol
