Bought two wisteria about 3 yrs ago and i've been struggling with it ever sence. one as of right now they both look dead. Last growing season all the leaves were brown at the tips and some were a purplish color. south side of the house, one in moderate shade but with a few hours of direct sun and teh other in a bit less sun.

if the leave turned brown and purple its most likely a blight that has hit it you need to go to the local nursery and they can tell you what to do

ok if i'm not mistaken, zone 9-10 is south fla. Wisteria is a northern plant, above the lake would b furtherest south.
If u r looking for purple, try the Jacarada.
Call ur county agriculturalist and he can verify this.
