I see nobody bothered to answer this so I will kinda state the obvious: It really depends on the amount of work and 'size' of projects that you get...
There's tons of work in Graphic design, with projects vary from short, quick and small (like business cards) to crazy huge (like campaigns...) and it's easy to start or even open a business, since u don't need much to begin with.

Interior design works on a bigger scale and u'll need a good portfolio to show to start with (which can be tricky, unless u do some free work for friends or family that can let u 'practice on their house).

But in the end, it all comes down to what u feel your good at, because these are two very different jobs...
