I've had mine done four times because it keeps healing from behind and pushing itself out (sounds more gross than it is!). Doesn't hurt getting it done (yeah, like a strong pinch) but it stings a bit afterwards and can get caught on clothing so you just need to be sensible with what you wear. It helps if you're slim because it won't squash up so much when you sit down. If you look after it properly there's no reason for an infection risk. I'd recommend you try it and look after it carefully. If you don't like it you can always take it out. It cost me £20.

It doesn't hurt having your ears pierced hurts more. Mine never got infected as long as you go to a respectable place and you keep it clean you should be OK. I can't remember how much mine cost it's a while back i think it was something like £20.

I haven't had it done but I know a few friends that have.
Apparently it does hurt a bit, but it goes away pretty quickly and I have to say it looks really nice. However it can be quite expensive, at least twice the cost of ear piercings.
If you're 15, don't forget to ask for your parents' permission!
And happy birthday in advance. xxx

My daughter has her naval pierced. She said it hurt more than getting a tattoo and she wouldn't do it again. She bathed hers in salt water several times a day. It didn't get infected, but she said she had to be very careful with what she wore (for example hipster jeans) as it was very uncomfortable for a couple of weeks.

I had mine done 3yrs ago now. It didnt hurt when the guy pierced it in fact i didnt even know he'd done it. It got slightly sore afterwards i just cleaned mine in tea tree oil and sprayed it with savlon. It cost me 25 ( i don't have a pound sign) and i had it done at an established tattooists.Prices vary. Not all places will do you because of your age though.. I know in Leeds they ask you to take a parent with you or they fone them up to see if they agree to you having it done.

confirm you maintain it sparkling! My buddy have been given an infection and her physician informed her it could have given her long term harm. an excellent sort of my pals have their naval pierced and people who've saved it sparkling and paid specific care to it now have not got any issues.

yes - i would recommend a navel piercing because it is aesthetically pleasing.. painwise, im sure u can handle it. when i had mine done they put sum numbing stuff on it and it just felt sumwhat cold, and then theres a pinch and then its over. ive had mine for over 3 yrs now and i havent had any problems with it. of course for the first couple of weeks or so you will find it annoying when your clothes rub on it. it does have a good tendency of migrating tho because of its position but it will be worth it.

If you pierce your navel it is VERY common to get infected because your shirt is rubbing on the piercing almost 24/4
