So, I have an old school iPod that I love dearly, it is still kickin' and I dont plan on forking out the change to buy a new one until this one dies completely.

My Problem: My parents bought me a new laptop for my birthday, and my old computer is having a lot of problems. HOW can I connect my old iPod to my new laptop without losing allll my songs on my iPod (erm..around 650)??? I've looked in all the manuals, looked at apple support, etc. I have already downloaded iTunes onto the new laptop. Help me PLEASE!!

you will have to lose the songs untill you put all your songs on a cd and transfer them to your laptop. If not you can use your ipod. on itunes when you plug it in click on enable disk use. put all your songs on the ipod icon in "my computer" and then disconect. on your laptop plug in your ipod. go to ipod in "my computer" and put the sings on your computer. (i have an iPod video, instructions may vary)

Plugging it in won't automatically do anything - just set your iTunes to manual uploads, so it doesn't sync itself.

If you are looking to get the songs from the iPod onto the new iTunes it's really easy. You plug in the iPod, and go to it in My Computer. Open the device and on the side selec "show hidden files".

All of your song files will be there - just copy into a folder onto your computer. =)

On your old computer go to the my music folder and copy the itunes folder. Then on the new laptop, making sure itunes is closed, copy the file over and replace the existing one. When it is finished open itunes and all the music from the old computer will be there

It is technically illegal to do it, but if you ask a rep at the apple store, they might tell you.
