I had knee pain about 4 months ago and it was giving out on me. I went to the doctor and did a MRI and they said everything was fine. They sent me to a Neurologist. He did a test and said I had a pinched nerve. I took some steroids and he said that should help. My knee still hurts and gives out on me. I don't fall but if I didn't have my other leg to support me, I would. It is a dull pain. It hurts especially when it is cold. I have arthritis in my other knee. It feels like the same kind of pain. How can my knee hurt and there is nothing wrong with it according to an MRI? Any suggestions?

MRI and CT Scan don't show all injuries and physical conditions. Try another doctor if you prefer. Or try alternative treatment options.

Your steroid treatment should of been followed up by physical therapy. I am 52 and I need new knees, but physical therapy and ultra-sound treatments helped me.Good luck!

Your knee is prlly just really weak try weight lifting and doing other exerises. i had hurt my shoulder and they thought i had to have surgery and what not but they just found out that there's really nothing wrong with it but that the muscles had to be rebuilt.

Perhaps you should go back to the doctor/whoever and see what they suggest, mb see if you can get some crutches from the hospital as well?
