Have you ever played jump rope?

Did you have a favorite rhyme, while you were jumping?

yes, i do! it was:
cinderella dressed in yellow
went upstairs to kiss her fellow
made a mistake and kissed a snake
how many doctors will it take?
1,2,3 (keep going until the jump roper stops)

that was always a favorite of mine!
here's another one:

Apples, peaches, pears and plums

Tell me when your birthday comes,

You would then skip "peppers" (or really fast skipping) and say the months of the year (Jan, Feb, Mar etc) trying to not get out until you reached the month of your birthday.


ok this is fun trying to remember all the chants we used to do...i think ive got one more:

I like coffee I like tea
I like (another person's name) to jump with me!
1,2,3,4, etc. until you get to 20 (if you do!)
[then the first person goes out and the second person tells someone else to jump in...it just repeats]

yes, I've played jump rope. My favorite rhyme when I was little was

I went to Town to see Miss Brown
She gave me a nickle, I bought a pickle
The pickle was sour so I bought a flower
the flower was dead so I bought a thread
the thread was thin so i bought a pin
the pin was sharp so I bought a harp
and on that harp it said
"Spanish dancer, turn around
Spanish dancer touch the ground
Spanish dancer, get out of town"

The jumper would then exit the jump rope and another would jump in.

all of them different than the chinese language bounce Rope - i do no longer even know what this is. i became Jacks champ at my consumer-friendly college. I had rapid hands and nevertheless do rather. I wasn't undesirable at marbles yet i could no longer hit the vast area of a barn with a sling shot. Q2 - We used to play it all the time as a new child. I wager maximum young ones right this moment do no longer even know what that's.
